OK, so I tried everything, and I still cannot connect to AIRBAG ECU via Multiecuscan.

I have a Chinese VAGCOM cable, and with that I am able to connect to ENGINE ECU, so all is fine.

I have original ELM217 cable, same situation, but MES says when I try to connect to AIRBAG ECU: You'll need Vagcom or obdkey to connect.

Now I bought a simple RED adaptor cable (without extra thingy bit to 12V stuff - only OBDII male-female), put that in, other end to Chinese VAGCOM, and MES still can connect to ENGINE ECU with this combination, but when I try the woeful airbag errors code to read: connection timeout, check cable/adaptor/port settings...

What am I doing wrong? Is my adaptor crap for the Stilo? Please someone help me!

If needed, I will upload photos of pinout settings from Chinese VAGCOM cable.

Thanks in advance!

You could just open up your blue vag-com KKL cable and swap pin 7 to pin 3, although that should be what the red adapter cable is doing for you.

I just bought a second KKL cable rather than the adapters, de-soldered pin 7, soldered it to pin 3 and wrote AIRBAG on the cable, so I know I've got it.

Make sure you're running the latest version of MultiECUScan. The Airbag ECU is available in the free version of the software for all Stilo models.

An ELM cable is not able to connect to the airbag ECU of the Stilo, it's not an appropriate cable to perform this task. It must be performed with a KKL vag-com cable that is either modified or has the appropriate adapter.
