Hi guys,
I recently bought a Fiat Stilo Abarth 2.4 2003! It's much different from having only owned Nissan and Toyota all my life.
I decided to Install an aftermarket stereo to it (successfully) but upon pushing the head-unit into the gap where it sits, my aircon unit shut off (lights wont turn on and aircon isn't going) and rain sensor failure, rear sensing failure and light sensor failure have come up on my dash each time i start the car.
I'm not too sure what's going on - possibly a plug that come undone when i pushed the stereo in?
Any help on how to fix this issue would be amazing!
cheers.

What stereo was it that you removed, was it the standard Visteon CD player or was it one of the Connect Nav units?

I would say you've either yanked a plug or pinched a wire and blown a fuse.

Steps are obvious really, pull the stereo and check the wiring and plugs for any evidence of damage or being dislodged. Also check the fuse box for any blown fuses, it'll be one of the service fuses I'd have thought but go through them all and have a look. It's not too bad I think there is only 20/25 to check.

The owners manual - available in the download section if you don't have one - will give you a breakdown of what fuse is what and the panel covering the fuse box provides a handy map of fuse numbers.

I would suggest if you find out it is a fuse you remove the head unit, check for wiring and damage, reinstall the head unit then replace the fuse.

It is a long time ago since I owned a Stilo 2.4.

Given the above statement of ownership/experience then I am thinking that this may be a CAN BUS issue.

The original head unit/radio/telematics unit was integrated into the vehicles CAN BUS. Also the Rain Sensor, Aircon, and other vehicle units were CAN BUS connected/integrated devices.

By removal of the original head unit you may have upset the CAN BUS registered systems but not triggered a PROXI critical situation.

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the replies, It really helped me out! :) I decided I would go ahead and pull the whole radio out and re-check my wiring and it all looked good! I then checked all the fuses under the dash and noticed I had blown one of them. Luckily it was a cheap fix!
cheers,
