Hey all, I'm usually silent stalker around here, but was browsing forum and trying to search for info and couldn't find answers that i need:

  • What is "best" way to get aux input in my radio? (Have one of those tft screens that is called SatNav or something, you know, the one with no aux and with sim slot...) Would be all just fine if CD part of it accepted ANYthing... Would be fine with 3.5mm Aux or arbitrary music input (no FM transmiters option please, quality is terrible on these things)
  • I've put new speakers into front doors and they give pretty amazing sound, but they probably have higher Wattage rating (say 120W peak, 40W nominal) than originals had (for some weird reasons can't find any information on original speakers at all). Can it cause any problem at all?
  • Is it normal that turning on conditioner to hot turns on some weird whistle-ish sound?
  • Bulb failure message pop-up most of time I press brakes, but all bulbs work as normal. Is this known to happen?
I love my Stilo and all, but damn sometimes it gives me headache with something trivial like headlights deciding not to work for no reason :D

(Some info if anyone care- 5 door, 1.9 diesel, manual 5-speed, not new for sure, but didn't age that much as my previous Bravo did)

Hi Kulsius,

I cannot answer all of your questions, but only a few of them.

You should have no problems at all if your speaker are higher wattage rating than the original. If they were lower, it would be the problem, but otherwise it is fine.

Regarding the bulb warning once you press the brake , take a closer look, when the message appears there will be also an arrow on screen pointing you which light assembly is the problem, left or right. You should take it out, clean all bulb holders with electrical cleaner, take out also the electrical connector to the light unit and clean it, refit everything and 99% I am sure that your warning will be gone.

Welcome to the FF !

Ty :)

For lights, it say rear fog and something else rear, both right side. I took out whole lamp, cleaned all contacts, even fixed one wire (was really wonky) and put it back, no change, but all lights work so i'm puzzled.
Also, noticed that one contact is questionable, but if all lights work then what's the deal with it? o_O

The bulb failure system works by measuring the electrical resistance of the complete circuit from the Body Computer to the bulb(s) and earth. A small resistance anywhere in the circuit could trigger the failure message, even if the bulb is still working. If you've checked all the wiring, contacts and earths; try a new bulb.
.

Oh, so by theory it means that soldered contact might also cause that if solder itself have higher/lower resistance than contact alone?

I've tried changing bulb from one side to another to see if error goes to another side, but it didn't change :D
(yeah, i'm not master mechanic for sure)
