General My Schumacher Story

Well, I did manage to correct the door handle today, but again didn't get it to the garage.

Looks like my Schumacher story may well be coming to an end. After another frustrating morning not getting it into the garage I was offered a really good deal on a Golf. I think the money I would otherwise spend on the Stilo would be better off going into that.

Shame but there you go!

Ouch. Good luck with the Golf. Hope it's a newer one. My experience of older Golfs has not been a pleasant one.

Yeah I'd heard the whole reliability thing was a bit of a myth. This one belonged to a friend of mines dad, coming up to five years old with 10k on it and I know the history. Probably a bit more practical with having a kid too. Just too good a deal to say no to.

I know what I'm like, if I don't get rid I'll end up letting the Schumi sit there and start tinkering with it and spending a bit here and a bit there while not even using it. Probably best it goes to a good home.

Been out scrubbing the interior and polishing up the paintwork up this morning, wasn't in the best of states when I bought it. It'll all be nice and clean for the next owner.

Man just look at this thing. :tempt:

That's it, gone. Sold to a nice fella who'd traveled a few hours to pick it up.

Had to come down on the price, lost money on it in the end, but I was a lot more honest about the car than the bloke I bought it from.

The whole experience reminded me how much I hate dealing with eBay too. 'Best Offer' brought out the jokers and a first auction ended a little higher than what I've just sold it for, but the bloke was wasting my time and it wasn't helping the car or my bank balance just having it sat outside.

Buyer seemed interested in getting the car back to its best, which was nice to hear. Maybe I'll get a bit more time and money on my hands in future and dabble again.

Cheers for all the advice all, really helped.
