Hi,
my little stilo has developed a fault, as soon as you start the engine (even from cold) the radiator fan comes straight on, and a flashing yellow triangle comes on the dash? car run fine, water and oil are good. but its killing the battery on short journeys?
I'm guessing its a faulty temp sensor but no idea where that would be?
its a 2004 1.4

thanks
Steve

The rad fan coming on tends to be a failsafe of the temp sender having failed or been unplugged (think broken wire possibly too).

It used to be a good trick on the old Alfas if it had overheating problems just to unplug the temp sender and the fans would kick in. That way you knew the fans were working and could continue your diagnostic search elsewhere.

I'd like to explore the flashing triangle a bit more though. It's a generic warning light I believe. According to my Abarth's manual the orange triangle is a generic system fault warning light, so you're going to need to do some code reading to work out exactly what it thinks is the problem.
