My Uproad is due for a big service it´s done around 134000 km (83,000 miles) and seeing as the Timing Belt was last done in 2012 it´s time for replacing.
I have found a garage that´ll do the work for Labour only and I want to make sure I get all the bits I need.
For the service I´m going to order all the filters, sump plug and gasket, engine oil and I am going to change the gear box oil too.
I am going to order a Timing Belt and Waterpump kit either https://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=details&ProdID=13816&sku=253718
orhttp://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/timing-belt-kit-with-water-pump/gates-kp55500xs_g3096_a033KP55500XS.html
What else will I need to order? Is it recommended to change the Aux Belt at the same time (and the tensioners as well)? I´ll need to order coolant as well?
Also on the last MOT an advisory was given on the brake hose connections being rusty. Looking at ePER I just need to order4 new hoses and the Brake Fluid?
What else would you recommend getting done at the same time?
Cheers
Nick

You need a cam-belt kit and a new tensioner. It's a good idea to also change the water pump.

Have a look at your Aux' belt.. If the ribs are cracking or it looks dry and hard, change it.. otherwise they can be re-used.

You also need an oil filter and an air filter. If you have an old pollen filter, I'd get one of those too.

I don't know if yours is benzina.. but perhaps change the spark plugs, if yours haven't been changed for a while. Glo-plugs (if your beast is a diesel) don't need routine changing - they just fail one day and you get a warning on the dash - but they're the same money as spark plugs and the same effort to change.

Gearbox oil and sump plug/gasket.. If your roads are salted in winter and your sump plug is suffering from corrosion ... or if it's chewed up after years of use... invest in a stainless steel one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAINLESS...-DRAIN-PLUG-/230447583816?hash=item35a7bf1248

Brake fluid .. you'll need a couple of litres if your fella is going to replace the flexi hoses .. but the hoses you might be able to clean them up with a wire brush, some rust killer and then paint them with Hammerite or similar product... save the money and fit stainless steel braided lines in the summer...

Best practice would be to replace the auxiliary belt and its automatic tensioner at the same time as the timing belt. The other pulleys on the auxiliary are only guide pulleys, so only need replacing if they are worn.

There's a 10% discount code for S4P in the Members Offers section of the forum.

The coolant doesn't need to be drained to replace the timing belt, so get the garage to test it before replacing it. Normal life for OAT coolant/antifreeze (Paraflu UP) is 5 years.

EDIT: Just noticed the timing belt kit you're looking at includes the water pump, so some coolant will drain out when the pump is removed. The left water pump bolt hole is threaded through into the cylinder head water jacket, so needs sealant on it. Hopefully, you garage will realise this.

Re. the brake pipes, it depends which part of the connection is rusty. Often the hoses where they connect to the metal brake pipes corrode, making it impossible to remove them without destroying the metal pipes.

Think I´ll replace the Aux belt for the sake of a tenner!
It´s a diesel, I replaced one of the glow plugs in the summer. Which wasn't too difficult other than the socket staying on the end of the glow plug and there's not much wiggle room down there.
Think I´ll get the mechanic to look at the brake hoses, the MOT also said there is water in the brake fluid
Davren, I´ll order some coolant as well.

The Auto Tensioner would be this part?http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/drive-belt-tensioner-pulley/dayco-apv1077_g310_a042APV1077.html

Yes... that's the auxiliary belt tensioner, and Dayco is a good manufacturer. It's a good price too, normal price for a Dayco one is about £32 (GBP).

Let me know how you get on if you order parts from Mister-Auto. Several times I've tried to buy advertised parts from them and received an e-mail saying the parts are no longer in stock.

Parts got delivered today, ended up buying them from here http://www.autoersatzteile24.at/. Delivery was in a box branded autodoc.eu. Ended up cheaper than MisterAuto or Shop4parts for what I needed eg Gates Timing Belt and Water Pump kit for €83, although I bought a Mann fuel filter off Amazon.de for only €35. Here´s a link if it helps anyone http://https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00692S39S/ref=pe_386171_38075861_TE_item.
Off to the Fitters tomorrow
Edit: Autodoc.eu seem to have a 10 percent sale for the next 3 hours, just my luck
