I took my car to formula One to have the track rod end changed and the headlights adjusted.

They had to remove battery to fix the headlights and all the work was done well

I then went to drive my car away and the central locking wasn't working. I swear it has always worked before

Any advise please? Thanks

Disconnecting the battery overnight didn't work and I've tried some other various techniques posted on other threads but nothing so far

sounds like I need to get my key reprogrammed?

Can anyone help on this please?

I've just paid fiat £90 to reprogramme the key but it didn't fix anything!

Assume you've already tested the two fuses; F32 (15 Amp) and F36 (20 Amp) in the dashboard fuse box?

Also check that all the red wires are attached to the master fuse board on top of the battery. Central locking gets its power supply from the brown 70 Amp fuse on the board.
.

Hi, if you use the key in the driver's door does it only open the driver's door, or does it open all doors by kicking in the central locking? If it only opens driver's door but not all the others, I would think it's a problem with the central locking itself, relay, fuse etc, but if the central locking system kicks in manually then I should think it must be the key, but if you've already forked out to have it reprogrammed it is weird. I would have thought as part of reprogramming the key that they would have also checked/ found it didnt work, and have looked to sort it by resetting the system etc. Did you physically go to fiat to have the key re programmed and did they know it didn't work after, or did it work initially and didnt after you left them?

Yes as said above please check the mentioned fuses and give us more info please, does the central lock operate when using the key in the door lock , or it does nothing at all?

Hi mate thanks for your reply and queries I'm onto the case now

The key works both doors and the boot by the driver's door key si the central locking is still working fine

Remote key fob only stopped working when Formula 1 disconnected my battery to change the headlight bulb

I took it to Fiat just to reprogram the key they said they used a new code and had no luck

Hi Dave yes I have checked the fuses and they are fine

central locking works fine via the driver's door key it's just the remote key which does not remotely unlock the central locking

Yes mate it's just the remote key which does not operate the central locking obviously the battery is fine and apparently the code is fine to

What are these for. The green fuse in green plastic....the long black plastic thing....and the square black plastic thing

I had a similar issue however, my proxy alignment had gone bonkers and one of the ecu's (modules) in the car was showing up as red and not in proxy alignment...

I had to purchase my cars security codes (for the immobiliser, key barrel and stereo) - when i got these (£12.50 + vat from sturgess) i then got MES and a licence, connected to the car - performed a proxy alignment, all modules where showing up as fine, activated indicators when locking / unlocking and then relearned my remote key fob and my door locks where working remotley again.

When they say a new code, do you mean they used your security code to access the part of the ECU that contains the immobiliser / transponder and remote signal information... if so, then it could be something else other than reprogramming but id suspect that first... £90 wasnt too bad... it cost me around £70 odd to do it at home...

Thanks mate. I am back on to this now and please see attached photo for the work that Fiat did however I'm not sure about the codes or if the code starting with q on the photo is my renewed keycode? They say "attempted to recode" but not say if that went successfully nor if have a different code

First thing if I had topay £90 and come away with it still not working, I would want answers from them as to why it is not working.

I would return and ask them if they checked other things to see why it was not working, and if not ask them to tell you where else to look, after all they are supposed to be the experts.
