sorry all fairly rare visitor but...

I am replacing a crankshaft sensor on a fiat stilo multiwagon.

i have removed the electrical connector and the bolt securing the sensor

however

despite being able to rotate the sensor freely within its place i am unable to free it loose from the housing...

am i missing another bolt i need to loosen?

I've looked at other guides on here but they suggest that its just the single bolt

more grunt?

Yep, more brute force required. You want to be sure to check that you don't end up leaving any gasket or o-ring seal in the hole before refitting the new.

I've seen quite a few people on the Alfa diesels come unstuck because the o-ring got left behind from the old one, which increased the gap between sensor and crank - causing the new sensor not to function as expected.
