Is it OK to use the rear suspension bush housings to jack up the rear end with a trolley jack or to put the weight of the car onto axle stands at those points?
I ask because I think my garage did this recently and caused one of the suspension bushes to leak oil. Does this indicate a clapped out bush or would a new bush be expected to leak oil if the car was jacked underneath it?

I've supported mine at that point... but not for long... without problems.

The bush takes all the weight that is supported by the rear wheel (when the wheel is on the ground) so I don't think substituting an axle stand for the wheel would load the bush any more than when the car is on all 4 wheels.
