Hello everyone

I had a problem with cam sensor. The car was not starting. I bought a new one and installed it. I didn't remove the cam belt I just locked it in place like one post suggests here on this forum ( https://www.fiatforum.com/multipla-guides/432917-how-replace-camshaft-timing-sensor-jtd.html ). Everything was fine until I started to put back the pulley on the cam. I then accidentally turned the crank pulley without turning the cam pulley. Now the engines timing is lost. Anyone has any idea on how I might realign the timing ?

Here is what I did in case someone else has the problem. I took the timing belt off, and I inspected it carefully. Since I have changed the belt recently the white line markings were still barely visible on the belt. One line is directly above a tooth of the belt and the other is above a groove of the belt, which helps you determine which line is for the camshaft pulley and which one is for the crankshaft pulley. First put the belt on the cam pulley matching the white line of the belt with the markings on the plastic cover of the timing belt and the marking on the cam pulley. Next put the belt on the crank pulley and see if the white line of the belt matches the marking on the pulley. If it doesnt rotate it slowly by hand and make sure they match. Tighten the tensioner and make 2 full rotations by hand. When the camshaft pulley marking matches the marking on the plastic cover, the marking on the crankshaft is oriented around 9 o'clock. The timing is perfect. Put back everything together as it used to be and crank the engine. Mine started with the first crank. ?
