Hello everyone,

Since a few months ago my steering wheel; whole car actually vibrates in stationairy. A friend of my recommends me to put a new rear engine/gearbox mount in the car.

Before i buy a new one online i first want to ask you guys if it's necassary to lift the engine to do that, or just undo the few bolds and replace the part?

It's about this mount:

Thanks in advance,

No need to lift engine, if exhaust is still bolted at the mid section to down pipe then it will take strain off the mount.

Had mine replaced as steering wheel was vibrating under load and if i booted it, it snapped my manicat.

When removing the rear mount / stabiliser in your pic, the bolt that goes into the subframe snapped, had to be drilled and re tapped, all done for £10 at top gear transmissions, had a go at home and knew the bolt was truly seized so let the garage do it and they didnt charge me extra labour to re tap it.

Just go easy and be careful removing the bolt.

Also maybe a good idea to jack the engine with a block of wood and trolly or tall jack to ensure it doesnt move incase your exhaust is weak.

My car feels good again and engine no longer rocks under load :) and no more snapped manicats

Thanks for the fast reply, i will give it a try next week!
