Hi all-new to this forum, hope you can help

I have recently acquired a 2004 Stilo 1.9JTD and the first issue was that it kept giving a pre heat fault. I replaced the glowplugs and changed the large relay and still the same issue.

I ran a diagnostic (someone very kindly assisted me) and told me that injector 1 is the issue. I then got injectors (second hand-Tested and they were fine) and it still gave the pre heat fault in the dash.

I then changed all the injectors and when I switch the ignition on the fault is now gone ...yaaay...however the car wont start now. It simply turns over and does not start.

I have tried the priming of the fuel line (turn ignition on for 10 seconds a couple of times but nothing

Does anyone have any suggestions please. Do I need to prime the fuel line?

Thank you

Does it start with an easystart sniff? Could help diagnose if its fuel supply, injector or ignition

Hi XB23, thank you for the quick reply

What do you mean by a easystart sniff?

Hi Paul

Yes I have checked all the fuses. No other problems.

Thank you

Have you programmed the car for the new injectors?

I know on the Alfa diesels, which should be same motor, you have to program the car with the injector codes. I wonder if this still counts for the 1.9 jtds?

See this video - appreciate this is for a 159 2.4 but it demonstrates the theory:

It's similar for the 1.9, 8 valve engine, but the injectors are only graded as 1, 2 or 3. The grade number is in a circle on top of the injector.

Hi All

Thank you for all the help. Much appreciated.

it seems I got faulty injectors. I have put my old ones back and car is running 100%........and the pre heat fault message has vanished.......
