Morning All

Put the Mutliwagon in y.day for its mot, took it to a new garage I have not used before. anyway failed on a few things:

Reason(s) for failure
Parking brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)
rear Brakes imbalanced across an axle Axle 2 (3.7.B.5b)
nearside front Tyre(s) incorrect because different size tyres are fitted on the same axle. (4.1.A.1a)
Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases flexie (7.1.2)
nearside Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc (2.5.C.1a)
nearside front Brake hose excessively deteriorated (3.6.B.4d)
nearside rear brake recording little or no effort (3.7.B.5a)
nearside rear parking brake recording little or no effort (3.7.B.6a)

Last month i spent £400 pound on new spirngs and front shocks/ Rear discs an pads and also a Arbag OCS simulator.

im thinking of breaking here or make an offer for the whole car. its quite a high spec, with no lights on the dash and has been m y pride an joy as every Stilo i have had i replace whats needed but its too small for my small family.

if there is ebough interest i would break.
Full black leather (front seats heated electric)
full sky roof all working
blades
front shocks (less than 200 mile)
new spring all round (less than 200miles)
rear discs/pads less than 200 miles
cruise control

What would you guys do? i have spent over 1K in the last 12months

I might even end up breaking my multijet multiwagon yet as I am not giving it away for 700 quid.

Chin up mate - you can do this!

Brakes
The vast majority of the fault codes relate to the same thing - the rear brakes which I reckon we ought to be able to address pretty quickly.

The rear calipers are pretty poor / weak point in all honesty

Pound to a pinch of **** that this all relates to that nearside rear caliper - which is clearly seized. The nearside is the awkward fecker which is reverse threaded and seize up way too easily for some reason. I snapped two wind back tools in mind it was that tight.

The good news is eBay being your friend a brand new rear caliper is £40, a pair can be had for £78. That is those ticked off the list fairly easily.

the rest
Head down your local back street part worn garage, you'll find a part worn in the right size for pocket change I bet; brand new wouldn't even be that heavy duty on the wallet for a cheapy.
nearside front Tyre(s) incorrect because different size tyres are fitted on the same axle. (4.1.A.1a)

Flexi is about £25 again from eBay, they're a clamp on jobby so could be a possibly DIY but exhaust places will do it cheap enough - access is much easier on a ramp.
Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases flexie (7.1.2)

For this one buy a universal CV boot kit, they're honestly about £5 and glue on. It comes with a sharp knife that you use to trim it to the correct size and then you glue over the shaft. it also has the metal ties to fix it in place, bobs your uncle.
nearside Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc (2.5.C.1a)

I expect this will be the rubber pipe and again available for just under £10 and a bolt on job. Just make sure you leave the cap on the fluid reservoir so the system doesn't drain out when you undo.
nearside front Brake hose excessively deteriorated (3.6.B.4d)

You can do it! Good luck.

Morning
Muppet1 yep i know what you mean you have had it on for a while an nobody has bid.
Artermis im going to SORN the car and put it on my drive, i was thinking last night its to good to break, i waited a good while to find a stilo with this spec and the engine pulls like a train out of 3 Stilo's i have had.

if somebody gave me a good offer for the car they could take it away, gotta be worth £400 as is?

spent all that money on her because last month i was keeping here untill i fitted 2 baby seats in and then the 13yr old didnt have anywhere to sit!
