Dont usually seem to get much response when i post on here... Maybe im too long whinded with my posts so ill try keep it short.

I replaced rear disc n pads two weeks ago.

Handbrake was non existent when we tried it for first time after changing the rear disc n pads so we adjusted the cable from the back of the centre console.

Handbrake tension is much more taught and the NSR caliper appears to have more bite than the OSR.

We wound calipers all way back when changing discs n pads, cleaned everything, reattached handbrake mechanism on each calliper and brakes appear sharper on the peddle but the handbrake is very poor, i can get it to hold on a hill but only after straining the handbrake and i dont want to snap the cable.

Tried various things, driving with handbrake on and both brakes get hot but its still not holding good at all, its very poor, i mean prior to changing discs and pads it was better than now but still not great but worked well enough to pass MOT, doubt this would pass MOT if i had a full re-test, however it's partial (phew).

Any ideas?

Hand brake handle on clippers moving fine?
Both cables moving fine?
Cables not hanging out, placed in correct positions?
Handbrake adjust also from brake clippers.
Pull your handbrake, go under car and check or handbrake handle have more place to go..if yes take knipex or hammer and make that handle go till end.
then its gonna adjust from inside clipper.
It help to me.

Re. your other thread ( https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/438060-wishbone-guide-revival.html ), I still don't see how you managed to wind the left rear calliper piston back, in the wrong direction. Perhaps doing so, has damaged the mechanical handbrake mechanism inside the calliper.

After doing any work involving the rear callipers, you need to adjust the handbrake mechanisms by fully loosening the cable at the back of the centre console. Then with the engine running, pump the brake pedal forcefully about 20 times. Then re-adjust the cable.
