Wonder if someone could help me.

Car failed MOT on a few things and EML light was on.

Sorted all the niggles (diskscs, pads, wishbone, airbag light and eml light).

Four faults came up when resetting pending faults in ECU...

[ FIAT ]
Record1 -> STILO -> 1.2 16V -> Engine-Gearbox -> Bosch Motronic ME7.3H4M EOBD Injection -> Read Codes
P0420 Catalyser 1
P1172 Mixture 1 strength (multiplicative)
P0130 Lambda 1 signal above catal.
P0115 Water temperature sensor

Once the faults where cleared they have not come back and engine seems to tick over much smoother.

The MOT failed and HO and CO ajd Lambda readings, once the ecu was cleared it passed on HO and CO but failed on lambda again, the reading was around 1.203... I will post actual figures later when i get the figures off the test sheet.

The garage said replace the lambda, could cost £105 for both sensors.

I have done some digging online, i was thinking i should flush the engine oil (with wynns flush) and put some new oil in and change the filter, it hasn't been changed for approx a year now.

Also, fix a leak on the backbox U clamp as its blowing and did bring down the lambda reading to around 1.190 when i covered the blowing section by hand.

Finally maybe fill the tank from empty with petrol and injector cleaner then give it a good blast and re-test straight away.

Thoughts guys? Really need to get these emissions sorted as cheap as possible, last year it flew through the emissions test, since then ive had three new minicats (due to them snapping from taking the strain off the rear engine mount stabiliser) and a new set of coils.

Really worried at the moment, i was also told that its upto the garage if they pass it for high lambda readings as the HO and CO is fine... Is this true?

Any help appreciated.
