I just bought my first car (Fiat Stilo 1.2) 2003 maroon colour. Got a bit if a price reductions because when I went to view it the radio wasn't working or should I say the sound. The radio works 100% tunes and all buttons function just no sound. The owner said he can get it fixed and I pay €1000 for the car but I worked out a deal and told him I'll take the car as it is for €950 because I was planning on getting an after market stereo installed anyways.
Now Im hoping people here can find a diagnosis on the problem. He said it's just the wires not being connected and opened the head unit to show me. And there were two wires disconnected I've included pics of the two wires. One green one yellow. I hope I'm not looking at a speaker problem. I told my friend about it he said it could also be a fuse problem and he'll have a look when he has time this weekend

OK well if you don't have BOSE then the headunit should be directly feeding the speakers. BOSE uses an external amp which requires a trigger signal to turn it on.

Unfortunately it looks like the wiring back there has been butchered a good bit so it could be difficult to work out what's happening.

As others have said you can try the diagnostic menu.

Has the stereo had anything added like an aftermarket hands free system or anything? Just wondering what all the wire chopping and crimping has been for?
