Hi guys, I know this question must have been asked several times before but I just can't find the answer I'm looking for, so here goes . . . .

I have a JTD Stilo hatchback, no problem, but I have just bought a 2006 JTD multi estate with ONE key. The car starts and does what it should but I am very good at losing keys, so I had one cut with the intension of removing the transponder from the only good key and permanently positioning it near the ignition barrel so that both keys would start the car. I know that this causes security issues, but they are not a concern to me. I have tried holding the good key in lots of places while trying to start the car with the copy key, at the fuse box, against the steering column in different places, and even side by side with the new key, but the car will only start when the good key is actually in the ignition.
The copy key turns the engine fine.
What I would like to know is, when I remove the little transponder capsule, where should it be placed to interface with the immobiliser?

Many thanks :)

Thank you very much, that is exactly the information that I was looking for.:worship:
