Hi Everyone, I am an owner of FIAT Stilo 1.9JTD 03/2005
I killed my airflow sensor a few days ago :(. I have a NCT (Irish MOT) next Thursday .
Sometimes when my car was cold it would lose power and smoke it will puff eventually and the car was ok. When the car was used extencivly the problem did not existed. There were no warning lights at the dash. Last week I have desided to prepare a car for NCT and cleaned EGR. A friend of mine advised me to clean airflow sensor as well. He advised to use carb (for oven) cleaner. After cleaning (I should have done it before that) I read that one's should not use carb cleaner because it can damage a wire on airflow. Basically it worked fine for him but I damaged my airflow meter. I bought this one online Air flow sensor PIERBURG-Ref: 7.22701.05.0 from mister-auto.ie (I am new so cannot post a link before I have 5 posts) Fiat : 4655982 - 6081644 Engine code 192 A 1000

After I installed this meter the engine light does not go off as well as after 30 min driving the car chokes and loosing power. What can be wrong? I called FIAT dealer asking to consult one of mechanics but they said they need to do diagnostics for 88 e where is I know for sure it is the airflow which is the problem. Before I messed it up the car was fine. Also when I disconect airflow, the car works fine. Help please.
