i was wonder if i was to change the turbo my self which turbo of the stilo family can i replace it with and any tips will be helpful .
thanks

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

If the engine light came on, there will be one or more fault codes stored for it. Your garage should have read the code(s) with a diagnostic scanner. Ask them what code(s) they got and post them here. The code(s) will be P followed by 4 digits. (Pxxxx).

sorry i had it checked a fair few months ago, i haven't had the money to repair it since.. he said the turbo was on the way out and there where a few other problems.. like lights nothing major .

It can become very expensive to just change components on a "diagnose by substitution" basis. I'd suggest you either take the car back to the garage for them to get the codes for you, or if you plan to do your own repairs, then buy your own OBD diagnostic scanner to read fault codes. A basic code reader can be bought for about £25, or for fuller Fiat diagnostics, consider the Multiecuscan (MES) software and connecting leads described here: www.multiecuscan.net

The free trial version of MES will read basic fault codes.

Hi there.I have some some questions regarding the turbo on my Fiat stilo jtd.First of all i had it checked i have lack of power for couple of seconds and usually on hills. It accelerate good and then is a lag for couple of seconds and then it goes back to normal. Also i hear the whistle sound all the time even on idle, and when i switch the engine off the last thing i can hear is the turbo(at least i think its the turbo)spinning. My question is:
Is it normal for the actuator valve to move(open) when the car is on idle?
i have the feeling my turbo is spinning all the time.I can hear the whistle all the time.
Any help would be aprecieted.Thanks
