General Sport shock absorber AKX Fiat Stilo £ 5.13 new

Greetings!

I had the FK dampers installed today at the front.

They are really great!
Comfortable and now the ride is really smooth/silent.
The car does not shake as much as before on rough pavements.

I do recommend them!
It was a great deal.
Imagine, 5 pounds each, plus shipping.
German product.

«The FK AKX uprated sports dampers are made in FK’s very own factory based in Germany.»

Cheers

Did you use the normal factory springs?

Bump! Just noticed these are back in stock, last time I tried when first spotting this thread there was only one left. Bargain for a fiver each.

I've taken the plunge and ordered a pair of these canary yellow shocks for my 1.2...I'll report back on progress. The cost delivered to Ireland is under €30!

I also ordered rear shocks and got a brace of updated Sachs ones from. Micksgarage on special for €70 delivered. It's not the bargain that the German front ones are but still a good price nonetheless.

I got these front shocks fitted around a month ago but am having problems. There's a very pronounced squeak from both front shock mounts. Even bouncing the car by hand produces it. There's also a slight knock from The front right when driving. It sounds like worn front bushes or noisy drop links, but all are nearly new. I've no idea what's wrong but I just hope that either the shocks are not faulty or they are unsuited to being fitted with the original springs. The shock mounts and bearings re fine before fitting and are correctly aligned.

Has anyone else experienced any issues after fitting these shocks? My car is a bog standard 1.2

I replaced mine with the same and new springs, top mounts. They are way too stiff causing a very harsh ride. The worst thing is, if you've got even the slightest amount of play in the lower control arms, the stiff shock makes the play a million times worse creating a horrible knocking sound from below. I'm taking them off tomorrow and putting the standard ones back in!

Did you fit stiffer springs with the new shocks? On mine, I'm using the same original springs and the ride is not that much firmer. The amount of body role is the same. The previous shocks were very soft and the car bounced all over the place as damping action was non existent.
