Ragazzi,

If I have electric mirrors (as I do...) should they "de-mist" when the heated rear window is on? Mine don't seem to. Is there a relay/fuse to investigate?

Having said that, at the moment my instruments are in bits pending a clocks repair.. and that has stopped a few things working such as the heater console lights.

Is there any link between mirrors and instrument console? The HRW works fine at the moment (or at least "near enough").

The heated mirrors are always on, no switch for them, mine are broke, cost about 20 to 40 pound for some new glass with heating elements in and you will be ok

That's interesting: my heated mirrors go on (and off) with the heated rear screen, which is also on a timer. The 'fast defrost' function also switches on the heated rear screen and the mirrors.

Strange, will read my manual later and see what it says as mine used to work all the time (as did the old 406 HDi dad used to have)

I'd expect electric mirrors to also be heated (since Fiat is already putting wiring to the mirrors, so I suppose why not?).

Some replacement glass on fleabay seemed to suggest there was an electric mirror without heating (they may mean "without the heating pad", rather than unheated electric mirrors).

I'll get them misted over one morning and see if they clear. They could just be slow.

Sorry bout this im slightly confused are you saying that a models of the stilo have heated wing mirrors as ive got the active model

Yes.. usually electric mirrors are also heated so they de-mist when the heated rear window switch is on.

But my mirrors don't seem to de-mist (I'll leave the heated window switch on for longer one of these mornings, to prove it)..

So I'm not sure whether the mirrors are electric but not heated.. or whether they are electric and heated... but the heater doesn't work.. :D

Mine is an Active Air. :D

It they are working, you can feel the mirror glass getting warm, you don't have to wait for them to get misty. They are on a timer from the body computer, so will only stay powered for 5 - 10 minutes when switched on. Press the button again to get another 5 - 10 minutes.

Just to add, mine are worn and only just working as apposed to some that get very warm to the touch, need replacing as every thing else on the exterior does bar a new scrape whilst parked up, another stilo on the horizon me thinks
