Very curious how they did this...
Do you dead lock your doors? And did they pick the lock?
I have one key and use the dead locks but have to use the button on key as the barrel doesnt unlock (work correctly) so if it was deadlocked - them.im shafted as picking the lock wont get it to unlock (the mechanism is stuffed
Basically he had a tool that was placed in the lock and with that he could tell where the tumblers ?? were off the lock. He also unlocked the car using this tool. He then put these letters in a key cutting machine and cut the key.
Then once the key was cut and working in a door lock and ignition it was a case of hooking up his electronic box of tricks and doing the immbo chip.
Basically it was a fairly simple exercise and i would have thought the deadlocks wouldn't be a issue as basically the tool worked like the key. I don't deadlock as I don't think the latter ones do deadlock??
So your key won't work in any of the locks then dtimmins? I would try and get at least one lock working just in case or get another remote sharpish.
They can also get the keycodes if necessary.
Since I only have 1 key for my Tipo (no immobiliser to worry about)… anyone know where I can get a second one cut? Bloke who sold me the car said any key cutter can do it, but it can't be that simple, surely?

Yes for the Tipo it's that simple any key cutters should be able to do it for you. Or if you don't fancy going out I can do you one by post from a picture ?
