Ragazzi,

My instrument cluster is zombified...

Occasionally it "dies".. the only things that work are the check lights that come on with the ignition then go out .. nothing else works, no back-lights, no dials, no indicator lights, no info screen... nothing.

When it's in this "zombie" mode, there IS power to the cluster.. otherwise the symptoms are the same as no juice to the cluster. The middle LCD panel says "Checking"... and the clock is stuck on the time when it became living dead .. e.g. "12:35" this time.

So it has power... just not getting its brains into gear. In the past the problem just randomly goes away and everything comes back to normal.

I have disconnected the battery in the past, to see whether that helped to clear the fault.. but it doesn't. It comes back on exactly as I left it... stuck at this "Checking" state.

Any ideas?

Hi Ralf,

Yep - it's broken.

Mind did same thing. Had to send mine away to be repaired.

I sent mine to ClusterRepairsUK, cost me £150 although I'd consider finding somewhere else as there service was less than ideal at least they fixed them.

I believe there is a Dutch chap on here that fixes them too and at a more reasonable price.

Ah you're a killjoy..

I was hoping there was some way to put Voodoo on it, or tempt the Electrics Pixies to come out and fix it overnight.. :D

But yes, I'd come to the same conclusion reading through the other similar posts.

Yellow Dutchman I've seen posting.. I'll have to see if he's still doing them (most of his posts seem a few years old).

Thanks anyways.. :)

I don't think i'm allowed to mention prices here but it will cost you less than half your mentioned price including the shipping cost to UK....
