I have a 1.9 jtd 3dr

I had a noise from the engine a bit like a fan belt starting to slip. I have had the tensioners, cam belt etc all replaced. But I'm still getting the noise. If I dip the clutch it stops and if I Rev from about 1000 rpm it also goes. So it's definitely engine related. Any ideas?

Would that make that kind of noise ? Never thought of that maybe a new clutch?

Did you get the main crank pulley changed?

I changed the tensioners and aux belt, but no difference.

Lastly I changed the crank pulley.....mine started to make a tapping noise......then after a while it started to squeal. The rubber ring inside had perished and was slipping slightly.

Have you checked the clutch on the Alternator.

I've read you can test the main crank pulley by switching the A/C on when the engine is warm? Is that correct?

It was the alternator pulley, all fixed now
