Anyone know if its possible to fit front fog lights to the 2003 1.2 Active?

My understanding is that the front fogs are actually in the headlamp clusters.

My clusters have the holes for the fog bulbs but cannot find any connectors to plug the bulbs into.

My control panel next to the drivers door has both front and rear fog buttons, the front and rear fog led's also come up on the instrument panel when you press the front / rear buttons.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Or recommend any nice fogs or DLRL's that can fitted flush into the side grills on the bumper (preferable oem or something that wouldn't take much modding to fit).

Thanks in advance guys

If this is the case, should they not be connectors for the bulbs on the car's harness?
I cant see any so that makes me think its never had them.

And... dont think the car has had the headlamps changed, the bolts securing them in dont look tampered with.

It's really bugging me, it's a 1.2 Active model, did they actually come with them as standard? also - the headlamps that are in it have the holes for the fogs etc so it should have bulbs in them, just a bit confused as the lights appear to support fogs but theres no connectors :(

Also, just checked the connector that goes into the back of the drivers side headlamp - it has 8 wires... i presume thats 2 for indicator, 2 for sidelights, 2 for main beam, 2 for dipped beam.

If my theory is correct - then there is no feed going to that connector to supply the fogs, passenger side headlamp is also the same.

Can anyone elaborate?

All the lights in each headlamp share one common earth wire, so there's one wire for each of: side lights, main beam, dip beam, fog light, indicator and the single earth wire = 6 + 2 wires for the headlamp adjustment motor = 8 wires.

According to eLEARN, the left fog light wire to the round headlamp connector should be Grey/Black, the right one should be Red/Yellow. Check if you have those coloured wires.

The wires are there on the connector going into the headlight cluster, maybe someone has removed the bulbs then...

Ill get some bulbs and fit them, see if they work - if not then maybe the clusters where changed before I owned it, however - they do look original and not tampered with.

Dont fancy trying to fit the bulbs in this weather either so will probably do it when it gets a bit warmer, maybe nearer to MOT time (march / april)

Check if you have the fog light wire and bulb connector inside each headlamp. (They won't be the same colours as the wires to the headlamp outer connector).

Aye, i might aswell buy the bulbs (£1.49 each lol) and if the connector and wires are in the headlamps ill just fit them, if they arent then its only a loss of £3 so not that fussed, dont fancy taking the back covers off them just to check as its double the job... and as you well know - the stilo's front headlight bulbs are a pain in the ass - took me around half an hour to do one side the other month (had to jack the car up and go from underneath on the drivers side, dreading the passenger side as that's an even tighter fit...

Why on earth they designed the front like that is beyond me - elearn instructions are mental on changing bulbs, then there is the rears and the nuts on a funny angle - pain in the ass, 10mm socket with an allen key on the end works a beuty on the rears :)

dtimmins1985 I have a 2002 5 door 1.2 active and it came with the front fogs so the wires should be there for yours I will take a picture of the drivers side if you want to give you an idea of what you are looking for and how they should look on your car regards andy :)

That would be great Aj80.

No rush tho so in your own time bud, dont fancy fiddling in this weather and the last time i changed a sidelight bulb in front drivers side lamp it was a nightmare, took me longer to correctly fit the cover on the back of the headlight than it did to take it off and change the stupid fiddly bulb that has a weird holder (had to jack up the car and go from underneath to get the rear cover back on.

Also, gonna start a new thread - a new fault occured today, getting fed up of fixing things for it to only last a week then something else needs fixing.
