Ragazzi,

How do you bleed the Clutch concentric slave cylinder? I'm fitting a new one (and clutch) soon... My local garage recently replaced the master cylinder but that didn't cure my limp clutch problem.

I can't see a bleed nipple anywhere... just a little moulded plastic nipple on the fluid connector hose... just where it attaches to the CSC (on top of the gearbox).

This just appears to be a moulding though, not a real nipple (though what is it for?).

Ta,

When replacing the CSC, to remove the clutch hose from the CSC, completely remove the metal retaining clip, then pull the hose off. When you replace the CSC, make sure that both "O" rings are on the CSC inlet (as arrowed in the 1st picture below). Smear a little brake fluid on the "O" rings before fitting the clutch hose.

To bleed the clutch, remove the bleed nipple cover, then raise the clutch hose retaining clip to its first position (as shown in the 2nd picture below), then pull the pipe out about 5-10mm. Fluid should come out of the bleed nipple under gravity.

When you bleed it, make sure the clutch pedal is in its normal up, rest position.

If fluid doesn't come out of the nipple under gravity, you may need to pressurise the combined brake/clutch resevoir. I made an adaptor from an old resevoir cap and a metal tyre valve, then used a bicycle pump to slightly pressurise it. Alternatively, you could use a syringe to suck fluid from the nipple.

When bleeding it, make sure the fluid level doesn't drop below the plastic pipe the comes out the side of the resevoir.
