I am looking for a new Stilo 3 door, I have notice there are two engine types to choose the 115 & 120. Are they make any different to drive? Because the MPG, performance and tax on emissions are all the same also have same gear ratio.

looking at a few online stat sheets the older 115hp may be the better option ?
the torque figure looks higher and at lower revs.(if correct)
the jtdm should be euro 4 spec, so strangled with more intrusive egr and cat etc for emmisions.
there is a minor difference in turbo spec possibly(fractions of a mm)
the fuel injection system is designed to work at 1600bar max on the jtdm where the older 115 is 1350bar or 1400bar max.
so swings and roundabouts , may be slightly more refined engine wise but more to go wrong.
hopefully someone has driven both and can comment first hand.
if your looking for a newest car or lowest millage possible you may need to look at jtdm.

I was always under the impression the newer JTDm's had more sensors on and more thing to go round on them, also they was used in the Vectra if im not mistaken?,and the older JTD was more of a "bullet proof" engine? (8Valve).

if its the power factor, i put in youtube Stilo jtd vs.. and watched a 3dr JTD stilo Vs 3dr 147 JTDm (im sad like that!) and the JTDm smoked it! (bit off topic but relevant i suppose!)

I have had 3 Stilo's 115BHP 1.9JTD's its a great engine.

looks like that vid showd a 160hp tuned 120 vs a 140hp tuned 115.

heres an example of realworld comparison in a 147
http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel3-2662.htm
improvements here look to be mostly weight reduction
unfortunatlely the 120 not listed on there
so 147 120 vs 115
http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel2662-474.htm

heres example of differing nm/ revs figures
http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=246719
http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=87142

the nm looks too low?
also I thought they were 5 speed?

Thank you for made up my mind, my heart is said go buy the JTD 115. Yeah of course it is bulletproof, my 3 family still have Punto JTD 80 & 85 over 90,000 miles not a single engine fault and my old Punto JTD went to 168,000 miles from 300 miles not a one d*mn problem! but knockout the deer in night that kill my turbo. Stilo will go forever like the Punto.

I am still look for a good Stilo for sale, one with front passenger seat fold flat and rear seat can slide forward and backward which base on Active or Dynamic? is that on the 3 door or 5 door or Multiwagon? are they standard or factory option?

Ok I saw 5 door yesterday 1.9JTD 115 passenger front seat at the rear got cup and tray fold and I though it was one of them that seat fold down but it wasn't what I saw picture on google image of Stilo interior with front seat flat. Thank you I keep look for any on sale this week.

Just go MW...better in the long run if you have to think about space issues.

But a tad dear i think, Considering I paid £1400 for my Multiwagon Jtdm on a 56 plate with 12 months mot with the same miles.
I would get yourself on the sleeper from Paddington to Penzance. You can sometimes get a cheap ticket if you get a seat rather than a berth.

I don't want to repeat my awful memories of waste my time, long time ago I phone the man about buy Peugeot 306 he said it is brilliant condition and photo look good too.
I took on train for £48 one way to Cumbria Kendal then the car was terrible and I had to pay other £48 back home! I don't want same thing happen in Penzance!
Thank you for your kindness help I look bit near about 100 miles radius in my home

Sorry if I'm crashing in on this thread but I have a related question.

I might be looking for a new MW. I currently have a 1.9 JTD and love it, but if I have to let it go and get a new MW, I've noticed one near to me but it is a 1.6 6V petrol engine.

(I can't post a link to the car for sale because I don't have enough posts)

I was wondering how the petrol engine compared to the diesel?

I've heard it's not so good.

I like the petrol but it is under power for it own weight when you want to overtake a tractor, been test the diesel jtd 115 is impressive fast from 30-50mph in 3rd gear something thing like 8 second, I want to ask one more question are they all have cruise control as standard?
