The link that connects the 2 rear cables to the handbrake lever is designed to swivel, to compensate for uneven streaching of the 2 cables. However, yours looks like it's swiveled more than normal.

Could be that your right cable has streached too much, or it could be that your left cable, or the handbrake mechanism on your left caliper has seized. The left cable is know to seize more often, because of its more convoluted route to the left caliper.

Check that the levers on both rear calipers are moving equally while someone slowly pulls the handbrake lever up.

Osr calliper seized :( £95 for calliper & £25 to fit :( I'm just glad both don't have to be changed

Clintwilbourn1994 you can get replacements cheap than that or cheaper still second hand to fit are easy as well all you need is a wind back tool and a spare hour swapped mine last year

As long as the others fine mate then just replace the nakered one but keep an eye on the other

Strange it's the O/S caliper that's seized. The position of the link and cables in you picture suggest that it's the N/S (bottom cable in your pic) that's seized. Unless the O/S one is seized in the on position, but you would notice that when driving.

Best practice is to replace both sides when dealing with brake or suspension parts. Probably doesn't matter so much if you fit a second hand one.

There's a pair of almost new rear calipers for £56 delivered on eBay here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151888313625?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Imo im with Davren thats a good price for both calipers and with replacing both no worries the opposite caliper will be givin in anytime soon

Best option message the person on ebay ask them which model they were on and what engine size it had dont think it matters on the model I.e active to much as the rear calipers should be the same my rear replacement came off a dynamic and mines a active and its been fine

I wouldn't bother changing both rear calipers, personally. If the old one is working fine, then it'll be working within its design parameters and so putting another caliper on there that's also working within its design parameters is a waste of a caliper.

You already have one caliper that is clearly knackered.. and you didn't notice the difference.. so you can see how crucial it really is (not) to swap calipers as a pair.

Suspension is a different story as dampers/springs need to be balanced and OE parts *may* be different to each other.
