Afternoon guys,

Another problem with the Stilo now!
Some little sod smashed my wing mirror to bits at the weekend - the glass has been totally destroyed along with the heating element.

I got another from a scrappies, its from an 02 Stilo 3dr, its a bluey greeny silver, slightly different colour to mine but will have the cover off at the weekend and spray her up.

I have a mission of a problem tho, the motor is not working so have to adjust it by hand.

I spent about 40 mins last night in the rain and storm, fitted the replacement mirror correctly, removed door card etc, unplugged the connector, fitted replacement and made sure it was connected up properly and the red locking clip closed and the motor isnt working (as said above).

Have i missed anything? the old mirror works if i plug in the connector but the element and glass is totally shot.

I am thinking, i might have to dismantle the replacement and take out the plate that the element and glass is on and put in my original mirror (if worst comes to it) - now can anyone help advising on how to remove this?

I have removed the old one from the old mirror but had to use brute force, I can see how they click in (4 clips, one in each corner of the circular thing) but it's very tight and I don't want to ruin the replacement element and glass.

Any ideas and tips guys, and have I missed something when fitting the replacement, should it just work? or does anything need to be reset or activated.

Hope you can all help, very frustrated at the moment... gonna end up selling this stilo if i keep having issues.
