My wifes stilo is in the middle of a head gasket job and my 1.2 had a serious short in the fusebox,my wife came back from a journey in bad rain and the coolant fan was on,but after 2 or 3 min's i had a look and heard shorting in the engine bay fusebox,so i quickly disconnected the battery.
then i dried out and cleaned a spare(known good) fusebox but when i put it in my parking lamps were on /blinking headlamps and fuel shut-off valve warning causing the car not to start,???can anyone help please advise me where to start

when i reconnected the battery,my lights came on without the ignition on,and one by one disconnected each fuse and relay in the engine bay and the d4 connector and the lights stayed on all the time.

The error message when i turn on the ignition is;- fuel cut off switch on, car security, loose connection.
my EOBD CODE READER wont communicate with the engine ECU,which it normally did,
i've replaced the battery with a fully charged one,
the body computers seem to have the same part numbers but different serial ? number,
what else might i have to change that is paired to the body computer?
Any help or info welcome,thanks.

the spares car i have is a 1.6, are the body computers likely to be different as well?

There are 20-30 different fuse box part numbers in the engine bay depending on engine and features. And lots of different body computers.

Dips and sidelights are supplied by 70A on battery via body computer hence disconnecting enginebay fuses won't affect it.

Do you still have the fuel shutoff warning, inertia switch is on the left

Yes,still warning,havent tried pressing yet,will try tomorrow,thanks.
i dont think it will be that easy though,
Both fuseboxes have the same part no's even though 1 is from a 1.6 and mine is 1.2,but both have A/C and stickers say 1.2-1.6 .but my wifes is a 1.6 M/Wagon without aircon and its part number is different,my root cause of trouble with her car was also the eng/bay fusebox being dirty/corroded and causing her 1 speed rad fan to fail in city traffic,so i tried installing the spare cars fusebox and 2 speed rad fan, which wasn't as straight forward as i had hoped.but the headgasket coolant ports were 95 percent clogged up and so would have failed anyway.

HI again, pressing the cutout didn't have any affect,so i changed the body computer from my 1.6 spares car, This did change the symptoms but as i expected i now have car security code issues, the changeover did improve things though,my lights and the fuel cut-off error don't come on now,
does the car security system need me to install the spare car's ignition and keys now?will i get away with that?
:bang:

As expected the transponder/vile change didn't help,it only confused the car and me some more, Has anyone whom has gone through similar incident got the bad news of what exactly will need to be done as i am close to accepting that it wont be worth it anyway which is a pity because i am fond of stilo's,i've had this one 8 years and the other multiwagon at least ten with relatively trouble till this year.

Hi guys.after leaving the car for a week as i had purchased another(1 lady owner/low mileage)stilo 1.2 ,I tackled the broken down one again and found more dodgy connections in the d4 junction block under the fusebox and after re-assembly the engine ran :worship:with the faulty BC connected.
I was still having lots of electrical anomalies so then i changed over to the BC/engine ECU and key transponder set i had bought from a breaker 100 euro and was very suprised when she fired up with all electrical gremlins - GONE....(y)
thanks to all who helped, now i just need to decide which one to sell???
