hello

failed emissions should be 3.00 but were reading over 10,added Forte Diesel Treatment and revved the engine a bit and the engine management light came on(wouldn't rev over 3,000).
Got these Fault Codes
P0380 Pre Heating Unit Command Preset
053010-Unknown
023610-Unknown

anyone got any ideas what's wrong? Thanks

What are you reading the codes with?

Multiecuscan might give you more sensible codes.

You didn't add the diesel treatment directly to the filter did you. Its mostly solvent and mineral spirit it would have practically zero lubiricty.

My opinion is your not driving it hard enough for one, I have never had a diesel fail on the emissions.
P0380 is glow plugs or related to that area.... Are you not getting a warning on dash about glow plugs.
P0530 I think is the right code is Air con pressure, Possibly needs a re-gas.

P0236 is related to Maf, Map sensor or a overboost area I would have thought. If it has failed on the emissions that bad it must all be full of crud so it would pay you to remove, the Maf sensor, Check air filter and the Map sensor which is on the intake manifold if I remember correctly.

Sound very much like to me the entire intake side of the engine wants a bloody good clean out.

Egr stuck open would account for emissions and p0236 thats where I would start. Forget about the glowplug error in this weather.

I tried driving it hard and the engine management light came on and it didn't rev beyond 3,000.
My mechanic updated his software and got a Fault Code P0046-Turbo Boost Control "A" Circuit.

That will be the boost solenoid as I said it would be. Change that as well as cleaning all the rubbish that has built up in the intake side of the engine.

Then start giving it some welly now and again.
