Hi again.

I find myself in need of a Skyroof drive motor, specifically the front one. When you operate the rotary controller the motor "clicks" away but the leaves don't open.

I've done all the reset malarky, I guess there are stripped teeth on the drive gear after one too many attempts to open it when frozen last winter........

Does anyone know if the part is the same as any other models or brands ?? I can't imagine Webasto used a unique part for these.............

Hi again everyone.

So after a bit of investigation the motor looks like it's used in various other models from Renault and Peugeot, so that increases the pool of spares.

However, I tried the "hand crank" directly on the motor, thinking that the drive is "straight through" to the rack, and I can get the "skipping" sound using the hand-crank, so does that mean more likely the rack is damaged rather than the motor ?? If so are the racks available and how much of a PITA are they to change ??

Sounds like one of the racks is slipping on the drive gear of one of the motors.

The racks are not available seperately. If they were, you would need to remove the complete roof to fit one.

So I've pulled the motor today and some of the gear teeth look a little bit damaged, so it's definitely been skipping.

The racks looked "ok" but are very dirty with grease and what looks like the pelt of a flocked seal or some-such.

As the motor has been slipping does this mean that the rack is likely to be damaged, and a replacement motor won't fix it ??

Also now I've had the motor out, and operated it outside the track, when I put it all back together again the motor won't drive at all, even after a "reset" procedure has been carried out. Any thoughts or ideas as to why it's stopped trying now ??
