Hi,

after repairing my "old" original ECU last year and driving the car (Fiat Stilo 1,6 16v 2003.) without any problems for 8 months, same errors occurs (as described in many other posts) and car suddenly stop working without possibility to start the engine. I have tried to find another secon-hand ECU to be decoded, but without success. I also tried to repair my old ECU but after 2 attempts by electrician no success.
Then I decided to buy brand new, decoded, ECU (production may 2015.). After installation, car works fine, without any errors on board (except usual Airbag Failure). Not to mention that brand new ECU is worth about 1/4 of the car :-(.
Now my question is: should I place ECU on alternative place under the hood? What should I check (sparks, grounding,...) to avoid future damage to expensive new ECU.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you.
I have checked ignition coils, sparks, wires, battery, grounding and scanned ECU for errors. Electrician said that all above mentioned is perfectly working. He also told me that in case I mount ECU on side of battery box water will damage the ECU so I decided to leave ECU on its original position.
If there is any other position (for example) inside of car cabine, that would be great.
PS
Sorry for my bad english...
