Hi all......off to look at a Stilo 1.9JTD in the morning.....the vendor has advised me that the clutch is heavy......is this normal (from comments on here they do seem to vary?)....will changing the fluid help?...or is it likely that at 137000 the clutch is shot?.......if that is the case will i need to replace the DMF .....heve been quoted £425 to do the clutch.....dont think that includes the DMF....will check though. Are there any linkages that could be requiring lubrication.....thanks in advance from a 'newbie'

I bought it....... Stilo 1.9JTD Dynamique MW with 11 months MOT with no advisories £250....had to be done......all electrics work...including the panoramic sunroof and blind.....just an issue with the heater fan working but not blowing into the car (easy fix???).....pulls like a train and the clutch is not all heavy IMO....the vendor is used to an Audi....anyway at that price if i get 12 months out of it and scrap it thats cheap motoring.....oh cambelt/waterpump done 20k ago....it got better and better...no fluid leaks whatsover....one small rust spot around the numberplate...ns sill has a small dent.....looks like a careless tyre fitter GRRRRR.....alloys have been kerbed but its an old car....will post a pic or 2 if i can work out how to do it

Good buy like you say if you get year or two is no loss..had my mw many years now and still going strong keep the serving up and hope you get the same good return,
If heater fan is blowing but no air flow, try giving the pollen filter a clean out may be choked up with old leaf's and dusty grub, is located on left side of drivers foot well, cover needs removing to get too with playing twister in the foot well.

ah ty....will have a look when i get it home....yup first job is oil and filter/air filter....and sort out the trim rattles when idling.....may run a bit smoother on idle when serviced?file:///C:/Users/neil/Desktop/stilo.jpg

Nice one ty.....last time i did that sort of antics was changing a clutch cable on a Peugeot....ended up with 2 broken ribs.....first job is oil and filters...its just about due....trim rattles in the load bay on idle...is this normal....100rpm more than idle and it stops....may be tempted to turn the idle speed up a bit if possible or maybe the service will sort it.....at the end of the day its 11 years old and being used as a work hack so i aint that worried
