Hi guys, got round to changing the lower mount and it seems someone already attempted it and partiality broke the bolt, answer to why the mount was so buggared! Any ideas and tips on the best way to get it out?? Is it easy enough to do on ramps or will I have to drop the sub frame? The cars a 3dr dynamic.
Any help greatly appreciated... Seems another reason to scrap the bloody thing!!

Apologies, just realised in my anger my explanation was poor!!

Basically my lower engine / gearbox mount is shot to bits!! It looks like it had an attempted change but someone had screwed the job up and managed to stop before the bolt completely snapped. So when I took a socket to it, pulling with minimum force the bolt snapped with less then 1/4 of inch of thread with the bolt head. I'm not sure how much is left in the subframe as I'm not sure on dimensions of the bolt. The other problem is the bolt broke just over half way inside the collar of the bush so the mounts still tied to the car, in a fashion...

Can you drill it?

If you can use a drill that will just fit in the hole and drill in a short distance. Then use a drill the tapping size of the bolt. The indentation from the first drill means the second is centralised in the hole. If you a lucky the remaining thread will pick out or you may need to get a tap to clean up the thread.

Yeah I think drilling would be easier, but driving up while led down is gonna be a nightmare, was wondering if anybody else has had the same problem and what tips to make the job easier... If any!
