Sorry guys I know part of this question has been asked but not all.
The local garage adjusted the headlights after changing the front coil springs, and he made a pigs ear of it !

O/S I can hear the motor buzzing on levels 0,1 & 2, the N/S is just clicking all the time
and the beam is set about 2mtrs in front of the car... useless !!
I didn't find out how bad it was until driving at night after getting of the channel tunnel.
And wasn't carring any ring spanners with me this year.

Looking at the back of the headlights , at the white plastic adjuster arm
which direction , clockwise or anti clockwise is UP

Its very tight and I dont know if its its been set at its limit, I suspect it has, so dont want to snap the adjuster.

From the noise the motors are making, I suspect the gears have been stripped,

Is the info on another thread about using a VW headlight motors correct
And can the motors be changed without removing the headlight assembly,

and hints on this very appreciated

Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard

if you can hear the motors id say there gone, the thread on the VW motors correct.
From my experience with headlight adjusters, the n/s/f is a nightmare with the second white adjuster right down in the corner, but read a small 8mm scoket and rachet will reach.

not sure on which one does what, cant remember!, if you have the headlight out change all the bulbs aswell there a bloody nightmare on the n/s/f aswel!

Thanks for the info Paul
I'll order two VW motors,
Can the headlight assemblies be removed without removing the bumper ?
I'm guessing the easiest way to change the motors would be to lift the headlights out, especially on the N/S

Cheers
Richard
