Hi chaps, as some of you may of seen from previous posts, my cars been rather poorly lately! So Friday will be a very busy day replacing broken flexi pipes, bent anti roll bar links, both suspension arms and repairing the headlight mounts to then fix the headlight beam!!! Any tips to make the day more bearable!!

My main question really is do you have to renew the suspension arm pinch bolts and/or any other nuts bolts fixtures or fittings, or would it be fine to use them again? If they need to be changed, could someone possibly post the bolt/nut part number can't access ePer!! Or kindly give me the size and dimension and il look in B&Q!
Thanks all!

Edit***
Also, what's the process for aligning the bonnet, mine juts out at the passenger corner nearest the windscreen by about 3cm & is well offline at both front ends where the bumper meets the wings.

I have normally replaced the bolts. They are available from your fiat dealer . They come in packs of 10 but the dealers sell them singly . Cost a couple of quid.Your vin number/ plate number will get you the correct ones. I have also used the old ones but if you damage them or the nuts getting them off you will be glad you got the new ones ready to fit !
Don't even think about fitting any old bolt from your diy store , they will not be of the right quality for suspension applications, and could well fail with disastrous results.

As above I would go an give them a good spray, i changed mine a couple of weeks ago, sprayed them every 2 days for a week before changing them, helped a lot.

I have always used the same pinch bolts etc. check the bolt size before ordering your wishbones theres two different sizes.

Thanks for all the replys!
Il be careful taking the old bolts out as no one near me stocks them typically!!

When I called fiat they advised me it was only the 1.9 that had different sizes, this was only due to the drop link? I hope they haven't given me wrong information... I've got a 120 mile drive Saturday and won't be in the best mood if I can't drive haha!

Drop Link?, I thought all drop links was the same size?, id buy a ball joint splitter to get the old ball joint out saves all the pain of trying to pop it out with a long bar etc.

I know its from Stealfords but the £8 is worth it

Take your wheel off and measure bolt the thread goes straight through the nut, in case they are wrong, i wouldnt be happy if i had taken the old wishbone off to find the new ones are the wrong size!:bang:

That's what I thought but I didn't argue... Their the "professionals"! I will double check now, gonna be so annoyed because it means a ton more cash gone on train tickets to go on holiday!!! I think I seen a ball joint separator in the deep depths of my garage somewhere.

Fiat dealer will identify the right sized bolt from your vin or reg number. There was a change in sizes during the production of the stilo and it was mid year so the year doesnt help. This is well documented on this forum ! (incl Pauls note above)

Yep i remember doing lots of research on here posting in threads etc, i think its from 53 onwards, and they are a 12mm or 14mm bush.

After speaking to a few fist techs they explained its 2005+ models with different sizes! So panic over mines all good!

What's the correct torque required on the pinch bolts? How accessible are the bolts with the wheel back on and the car under load to torque them correctly?

Blow torch will make a massive difference if you can get a hold of one. I changed my wishbones a few years ago and snapped a bolt- it's serious work getting that out :bang: Just did them again recently and had them off in seconds with an impact wrench and torch (y)

Do not use bolts from B&Q. They aren't up to the job. OEM bolts are expensive but think of the safety factor. Is it worth a couple of quid?

Pinch bolt part no is 7707587 nut is 15503721 torque is 70nm.

Job done!!

By the way folks the B&Q bit was only a figure of speech lol.

I managed to get the flexi pipe done but stupidly didn't change the "lower engine mount/gearbox mount/rear mount" what ever the bloody thing is called, so pointless doing the pipe as its gone again... Didn't realise my mount was so fubar'd!! I know it's gonna be a pain of a job! I need to order a mount first but I see a variety of different looking mounts with a ridiculous amount of names. I had a look on ePer but none the wiser as couldn't find item number or picture of required part! Can anyone advise as to the item I need, my cars a 1.6 2002 dynamic. Going on memory it's a round bush with 2 horizontal arms running vertically away from the bush with bolt holds in the end of the arms.

Yeah that's the one, although fiat no longer make them I believe shop4parts sell them...Hopefully. Think my drive shafts are catching the subframe, even with PATHETICALLY slow acceleration.
