Hi All

My 2005 Stilo 1.8 16V is losing oil - but there's no indication as to where it's going. The engine compartment is 'clean' as is the sump plug, etc. And yet it's lost about 2 litres in as many weeks - albeit after about 1k miles. Any thoughts on what I need to be doing? The car was serviced - as per a Fiat's guidance - in March 2015 having done just under 70k miles.

Plus, the Fiat Stilo Owners Manual suggests SAE 5W-40 whereas all other indications (Halfords, Kwik Fit, etc) suggest 10W-40. Once again any thoughts?

Cheers

My car (multijet) had low oil when I got it. Turned out the oil cooler was leaking into my coolant system which has cost me a fortune. Just as a precaution check your expansion tank

Yup, I've now put about 4 litres of oil in the Stilo and it had a service only last March. Can't see anything doubtful about the expansion tank. Any other ideas?
