ok, so I have this issue with my JTD, thought it was just a wishbone or something but after replacing almost all of the front suspension components I have narrowed it down to where the drive shaft goes into the gearbox.


The Issue.


when I am driving I get this weird vibration, kind of like an unbalanced wheel (100% its not this as just had new tyres fitted and it was there before and after) but it starts at around 30mph which an unbalanced wheel doesn't until 60mph, its not there all the time, its only there while on power but not full power, the mo I lift off the throttle it goes, the mo I feed the power back on it comes back. its fairly consistent and does appear to be getting worse.

Ok so after doing the above I have been checking and there is play in the joint where the drive shaft goes into the box, not the CV joint, the splined shaft the goes into the diff, is this my diff on its way out???? anyone else ever had this issue???

had a quick look for you on alfa forum most vibration under load on there turned out to be inner cv joint, not seen any being diff (splines)
most threads seemed to go vibration under load inner cv joint, clacking clunking low speed turning outer cv joint.
most seem to be jtds the torque must wear em quicker.

cheers mate, on the drive back from Newcastle last night I was really taking notice of it and I had started to think it was that too, because if it was a diff bearing it would be constant all the time. I will go order a new drive shaft this week. it would be just my luck I would replace just the cv and then a week later the outer one would go lol
