Hi all, im having a problem with my fiat stilo 05 1.6 16v xbox.
A few times now the car has cut out displaying 'loose connection' on dash but starts straight back up first time without a hitch, can anyone give me some advice on this please?!?!?!?

Yeah thats what im thinking after all the research ive done, stupid place to put it aswell i thougt anf im no mechanic by any means, that or air flow sensor?!?!?!

MES will probably give what the sensor is that is causing the error. Good investment.
Crank position sensor on the way out can cause this error.

If your thinking ecu I'd try get the board resoldered before going to another part

Being a 1.6 its probably all ECU related, loads of info about it on here if you have a search

Recentley replaced the crank sensor abd coolant temp sensor but think its deffo the ECU guys, its throwing all kinds of errors at me now, oil pressure, coolant temp, engine fault, car security ?.
Yeah ive done alot of soldering on solar panels so gonna give it a shot myself i think! Its gotta come off anyway so why not. Ive seen that the connection pins can drop?!?!?! Any other suggestions?

You have checked you battery voltage haven't you, I'm getting rain and darkness errors and odd things battery at 60% fiat said it should be OK yet when they did a service

I'd do a cracking test. I don't think they voltage should drop below 1000, my cca was like 970

Yeah trying to get my hands on a multimeter for the test as its not something i have at home, ffs like

If you plug into the car you can read the voltage the computer sees. Even watch a graph vs time which is good for fault finding.
So get the ODB2 cable and MES rather than multimeter.

Done every kind of test there is on battery everything all spot on, so went ahead and looked at ECU, No pins had dropped and all solderings looked like new so resealed and put back on, checked all connections on everything and went through all fuses all good, i dont know where to go from here except the garage for a diagnostic check, but i know the f**kers will prob try and screw me. Car is running sweet now but worried it will go again prob in the middle of the motorway?!?!?!?!?

Agree but would still put cable and MES ahead of multimeter. You can graph the voltage vs time and make use of built in volt meter.
