I went to fiat to have my key reprogrammed, as I was waiting I looked around at the stilos they had in there. I sat in a 2004 2.4 abarth and to my surprise there was no ignition key on the steering Column, instead there was a starter button on the left side of the steering column, where on normal stilos there would be an empty insert. I press the button out of interest, and the info display read "cid not recognized". I was so shocked  as I didn't realized the stilo could get this option in this country after reading some threads on this forum about the easy go system not being available in the U.K. I told one of the sales men that "I did not know stilo came with the option of start stop button", he claimed he never heard of it as well and so did a few other sale men. I ask if a stilo could be ordered from new with this option and none of them knew  and the sale manager was not around for me to talk to.

A few weeks ago I also spotted a stilo at the dealer (not sure which model) with radar cruiser  I knew it had radar because on the cruise stork where the on/off switch would normally be had an off position and pictures of cars (representing gap distance between you and the vehicle in front). This was also mentioned on this forum of this option not being available in the U.K

Models change all the time because at Fiat UK work a lot of muppets, who think they know what the customer demands are, go wrong and change the spec, go wrong and change the spec.....and eventually we get the same spec as anywhere else before the model is changed. And they forget to tell their salesmen and of course (in their opinion) us ignorants.
Long live Fiat UK

I know it would not come with any of these options as the sale people would not let any one order it anyway as they think fiat has stopped these options (n) , but I was just interested to know. :D

I'm getting another Stilo next year and was suprised to see a £100 option on the list of options of...front passenger seat fold down flat. That was standard on my '04 Stilo.

I don't know, but the 2004 2.4 abarth I saw with easy go looked like a UK car but I’m not 100% sure. It was manual with cloth seats but had no selespeed, navigation, colour matrix display or sunroof. But it did have silver dash, cd and coloured side strips with side skirts and 16" alloys. So just by looking at it, it’s hard to tell whether it was an import or not. But at the time I wasn't thinking of stilo imports.

The other stilo I saw with radar cruise was on a 53 plate, silver with navigation, sunroof, black leather electric seats, colour matrix display but this one looked like it had all the extras, again not sure if imported as it didn't have any unusual features apart from radar cruise.

It looks like the newer the stilos are the less equipment they get. What are fiat doing  If they keep this up, it looks like a/c will soon be an option on an abarth :D

Personally I think that this is fiat's way of trying to make some money back, they lost on poor sales (n) , seen as they did spend 700 million euros to develop and produce the car.
Fiat's plan was to launch a stylish car with class leading technology hoping that this would increase sales over it predecessor (Bravo/Brava) and most importantly over it's rivals, But the public still carn't seem the get pass the Fiat brand. others may think different
