I got a stilo 1.6 16v active sport 3dr, I have the airbag light and warning on dash, iv tried the wires and connectors (under seats, glove box, rear struts) cleaned them with contact cleaner and its still there.

under the passengers seat theres a grey connector but nothing coming off the seat for the OCS is this normal for my car as iv read not all cars have OCS. I bought a elm327 wifi obdII but no error codes. any help appreciated

Ok no ocs is good news lol where are these cables? An how much? I'd mod the elm327 if I could. Thanks for the help

Would this work? A post from shadeyman" NOTE: You have to solder a short wire between pins 1-7-9 of your interface's OBD connector in order to connect to ABS and Power steering ECUs. This is not required if those ECUs are on the CAN network.
http://www.fiatecuscan.net/HowToUse.aspx"

in short it will not work.
You need the KL cable to connect to the ABS.. you could mod it soldering a wire between pins 1,7,9 ..that will only mean you don't need the adapter cable.

The ABS on the Stilo works with the KL cable, you can use the elm for other stuff.

The cable come today ? scanned air bag ecu come up with " the ecu has detected a short to the positive or ground in the indicated crash sensor circuit"
The reason for this fault is short circuit at ground
I have cleaned and replaced the connector under the seat still got the error code 299
Any ideas??:bang:

I might be wrong but: isn't the crash sensor somewhere in the front bumper.. or in the doors ( for the lateral airbags)...
The car might have been crashed ...
Just a thought: use eLearn to find out where those sensors are.

I would recommend that you remove the battery negative cable 30-40 min before doind any testing/ fixing ( you don't want to pop the airbags)

ELearn ain't to clear where it is as it shows a 5 door and mines a 3 door. The side passenger Impact sensor is in the pillar, I have no idea where it is on a 3dr. Even googled it lol

The front impact sensor is behind the bonnet slam panel, above the engine cooling fan.

Any ideas where the passengers side impact sensor is on a 3 door??

Greetings!

I also had the same problem with the Airbag light turning on.

So I disconnected the plugs under the car seat and clean them up with contacts cleaner. It didn't fix it.
Next I installed plastic tighteners so that the plugs are really well plugged in.
I also noticed that one plug had a few pins hidden inside, so I pulled them out.
But the plastic tighteners were really the fix.

I never had any problems anymore with the Airbag light turning on.

Cheers

I took the rear seat bases out and n/s quarter panel trim off, the impact sensor is by the reel just above it held in by 1 screw. Cleaned the connections but still the same fault, so swaped it for the drivers side sensor, didn't need to take the whole d/s trim off as it is assessable once you know where it is.
Anyway swaped them round and did a test and its cleared the fault.
:slayer: thanks all for the help
