Hi all,

I am from Finland. I am looking for a used car to buy. I love Fiat's and came up on a 2005 Fiat Stilo with 182000 Kms. From the outside and from the test drive, to me everything seemed well, I am no mechanical expert. I am also not looking at diesel's as diesel tax is sky high in Finland. I have read lots of negative reviews on Stilo's. Could you give any help regarding this? I have given the link to the used car website. I currently drive a Mk1 Punto 75 SX

I love the versatility and space of the multi wagon, and the condition looks good from the pictures.

1. I would ask if there is a full service history?
2. Dies it have anti freeze, very important, but more important in Finland, can crack heads & blocks if not present, remove a water hose and look at the condition of the aluminium.
3. Timing belt, when is the next change due? has it been done? when? if every 80k then you are good for 60k, if at 60k intervals it must be changed now?
4. Check the condition of the suspension, hoist up and in investigate for accident damage.
5. Look at the condition of the oil, not to dirty?


Remember the km's are high, so small things will start to break, if engine had a good service history and owner then you should be ok.
