Hey guys I've looked around on here and Google but I don't get it?

Can someone please tell me what the difference between a normal stilo and a Abarth stilo is?

For example

Fiat Stilo 2.4 Abarth 3dr

Fiat Stilo 2.4 3dr

What is the difference? Is it just a model? Engine? Edition?

What makes them different guys and gals?

As I want a Fiat Stilo 2.4 3dr in the future but was searching around on for sale sites and there's

Fiat Stilo 2.4 Abarth 3dr
And just just a plain Fiat Stilo 2.4 3dr?

I noticed on parkers that the Fiat Stilo 2.4 Abarth 3dr had 5/5 star rating witch I was amazed by as its 1st car ive seen with 5 star ratings

Hi, there are a few versions of the Stilo 2.4 but there basically the same. As far as I'm aware they are the following......

Stilo Abarth 3 door: built from the start around 2001 with the 2.4 engine it was the top of the range sports one with all the goodies and only came with a semi automatic gearbox until around 2004 when they all came in manual and less goodies (Abarth at this point is only a badge - there's no upgrade in engine performance like there is in today's range)

Stilo Abarth 5 door: they did actually made a 5 door version with more or less the same spec as the 3 door again only avaiable with the semi auto gear box. I belive they rebadged this later as the prestigeo however I think it was quietly dropped around 2004

Stilo schumacher: the ultimate in stilos. It's basically an Abarth 3 door with less goodies BUT they only ever imported 200 officially into the UK. They are all ferrari red and come with a unique body kit which is lush and some came with 18" OZ wheels and bilstien/EBACH sports suspension. There very affordable at the moment. They are all manual and still have the same 170bhp engine that the Abarth had.

Thank you for that! I like the Abarth badge a lot more then the plain fiat one the Abarth has more style and design in my eyes but as there's no difference I don't see the point myself but there all about same price, so I think I'll go for the Fiat Stilo 20v 2.4 Abarth 3dr just for the logo mainly I've seen the Stilo Schumacher they look lush but I like blue cars more then red as red has always brought me bad luck so wouldn't want a red car lol I want a project car and the one I'm after covers what I want, big engine and a car I kinda know,
But once I have the car I'm after getting...

Inside the car..
-bucket seats
-blue Led in car under dash and seats glow,
- all in car LEDs changed to blue,
-Pop up Satnav out dash (or replace radio if pop up is impossible)

Outside..
- carbon fibre bonnet or transparent (not chose yet)
-carbon fibre spoiler (same size as factory fitted)
-limo black back 3 windows
- parking sensors (I believe some stilos are factory fitted)

Under the hood..
- turbo if possible
- blue leds when bonnet opens

Car in general..
- lowered
Or
- body kit

What I might have not sure..
- nitro

I am thinking of spending a bomb on the car and using it as a drive about but also maybe a show car

Sounds like a great project :D don't know much about LEDs but all the other stuff relitivly run of the mill - loads of suspension stuff about plus plenty of body kits about. Turbo conversion are not as straight forward due to the complicated ECUs that they run but why not have a go :D

If I can find the right mechanic anything is possible ;) and as for the bonnet what do you think would look nicer? Clear so the engines on show (I'd keep it clean and polished so looks better) or carbon fibre?

And when my project is complete I will be showing it to you all, I'll probably creat a thread for it but it will be going on for a long time as I'd only be saving bits here and there but 75% of my spear money will be going into the car

But as for the body kit, there's loads of speed humps and pot holes In my home town so I'd need the ability to make my car higher and lower by controls but that would cost a bomb I'm sure of it!

Also does anyone know if Hydraulic doors are possible on the Stilo? Like lambagini doors?

All in all im wanting to be spending around £5,000 - £30,000 on the car (including the car)

I was looking at a Stilo Arbarth the other day, it was a 5dr with a manual box in Silver, looked rather nice but it had the same bumpers as the normal 5dr and the 17inch claws.

Well firstly don't get carried away! Lol plan the project and do plenty of home work and research before spending your hard earnt cash (belive me I know!! :D)

All the bits and pieces you need to create an awesome looking Stilo are out there for a lot less than £30.000. IMO you won't need fancy hydrulic suspension just a good set of springs/dampers. I had mine at a 50mm drop with a sub frame brace and it still cleared the speed humps. Body kits are everywhere plus you can always create your own mods if your creative. I NEVER heard of a clear bonnet? I can't imagine how much that would cost to mould and shape to the contours of the Stilo body so I would just stick with a carbon wrap plus I think it would look better.

For Lamborghini style doors :)yuck:) I'ld look to Germany or Eastern europe as I've found there's not much call for them over here in the UK. The general feeling I've found on other forums is that Lambo doors are a little "old hat" and we're popular 10 or 15 years ago in the "MAXPOWER" days and just like most things in fashion they go out of date and people move on just like when quad lamp conversions and Lexus style rear lights were once all the rage back in 2001. Now it's angel eyes, HID's and LEDs.

If you do buy a car, get yourself a thread started so we can see your progress! (y)
