Hello all
I am deciding which oil to run in my stilo 1.8 vvt, and I am thinking fully sinthetic. I was thinking selenia k pure energy 5w40. This is because I use this in my tjet bravo. I have always used semi sinthetic 10w40 before now. I would rather pay a bit more and change it less, and know its good oil. I'm not interested in saving a couple of quid just want some good oil. I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks
David

I would look into the other specs of the oil; there is a special Fiat approval/rating that your engine needs (Selenia k p e has FIAT 9.555.35-S2)
check for an oil that meets or exceeds that standard.

With oil you should never get better to change it less.
Oil should just be changed according to schedule.
For example for he Bravo t-jet the Selenia k.p.e. should be changed every 30k km or every year... even if it's synthetic.

If you want a syntetic oil also look at the Texaco Ultra S

I do very low millage my stilo is 12 years old and is on 37,000. And my bravo has just touched 20,000. From my understand fully synthetic is every 2 years. I want selenia really but I don't believe they offer a 10w40 in fully synthetic as that's the spec the handbook says for the stilo. so I was really wondering if the 5w40 will be too thin added to the fact it's designed for turbo charged engines. But I'm of the impression that it's just better oil for any petrol engine that is of the FCA group as Petronas (selenia) is owned and designed for their engines.

Selenia recommend:
Selenia abarth 5w40 (website recommends multi-air petrol engines)
Selenia 10w50 (website recommends for tuning abarth petrol)
selenia kpe 5W40 (bravo 1.4 tjet according to handbook and website )
selenia performer 5w40 - (stilo all petrol alternative recommended according to handbook)
selenia k (stilo 1.8 vvt)
selenia racing -(stilo 2.4 20v)
Selenia 20k -(punto 1.8 hgt vvt according to website) and (Stilo petrol according to handbook)

i personally feel from my investigations
k.p.e is the best fully synthetic oil for any petrol and turbo applications from the FCA group,
but the abarth 10w50 makes me consider the best also for these applications as it is recommended for tuning, and i have a normal turbo on my bravo and i do like to update things sensitively.
With regard to the viscosity difference 5w or 10w on the low side of the range, weather in England is cold. Hight temp side 40 or 50, well if you push the car hard and it runs hot like my beloved 5 pot's did then this would be a benefit, or if i was in a hot climate.
In conclusion i will run K.P.E in my stilo 1.8 and my 1.4 turbo as i feel they would benefit from slightly thinner oil on startup in the uk and because i already bought it.I also want to run full synthetic oil and only that because it will do more miles and burn cleaner, as all petrol engines burn some oil.
Should i run the abarth 10w50 in the future i am still unsure

Please feel to add to my findings and i don't wish to take responsibility for all the facts i have quoted. check them yourself if you so wish

The only place I found selenia at a reasonable price was shop4parts and they have free delivery at the moment. I think it ends this month. Members even get a discount yay
