Hi, i have a 2006 stilo 3 door, the passenger door has decided to stop opening. It does not have a key slot in this side to open manually! I have tried from the outside and the inside with no joy! The lock makes a noise as if it is unlocking bt door wont open. Has happened before bt it seemed to fix itself after a while.

Please help!?!?!?!?

Does the cable to the door levers feel like it still attached or does it feel like the cable could be frozen in the outer cable...

Other point do you use the deadlock function double click on key fob to open and close as could be deadlock has not disengaged requires quick press one after other, could give the double click to open a try and same with any key blade doors you have to try turn one then turn blade again within a short period of time

Hi, thanks for your reply!!!
The handle all feels as it did before this problem started tbh. Also it seems ro make a noise on that side when i press the lock/unlock buttons.
Also i just tried your pressing unlock quickly and nothing!

Dave

Sounds like it could well be deadlock stuck and not allowing opening of the door as if the door was locked without use of deadlock function you should be able to open it by use of interior door lever.
Do you have a good charge in the battery or if you have the door unlock button on drivers door try using that whilst engine running so you are trying it with a good voltage/current in car electrics to see if that helps kick it in to life, if still no luck you could try disconnecting car battery for 30 mins to reset car electronics and try above again.

Hi, i have tried all of the above with no luck! Thanks again for your reply!!

Hi, I have just fixed the door!!! I took the exterior trim off the door and applied heat with a hair dryer then unlocked the doors via the button inside the car and miraculously it worked!! THANKS ONCE AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Regards

(y) Wow amaze myself some days have to nip out to shed and knock myself up a blue peter badge for that one :)

Great that it got you out of sticky situation and worth remembering for the future though hope not to need to whip out the hair dryer in the near future, actually had to replace my passenger side door lock mechanism earlier in the year as it failed to unlock or lock but as I did not use deadlock was able to use interior handle to open the door, so I avoid using the deadlock function and use as and when required as I also have alarm fitted plus basic transponder in key fob is good security ,
As you have found out yourself that it it does become double locked and fail to release it can be more trouble than is worth and depending on your situation and security requirements would advise against using it though that is for yourself to choose.

Haha! I think I'm just going to not use the deadlock tbh!! I was actually amazed when it actually opened! Ha

Cheers
