Hello again sorry :) When we brought my gf's new stilo 2004 1.4 we noticed that there was no oil the dipstick not even dirty oil :S we had the car service even tho it's had been service 5 months before and the garage it had all the oil in it that it needed and even after a month it's still no showing no oil on the stick? :( makes me kinda paranoid something is up ?

If the oil was that low the oil pressure light would come on. Sounds like the dipstick is not reaching far enough. Is it broken (should be a cross hatched flat piece at bottom end) or is the problem at the top where the sealing ring has slipped down the shaft. Or has it got a dipstick from another model?

Does anyone know if the stilo 1.6 has the same dipstick? If so I don't mind getting a quick picture of it for you so you could compare it to your dipstick?

1.4 and 1.6 dipsticks are different.
.

Shame :/
the end should look something like this though

If im wrong someone correct me

The 1.4 is a natural oil user, normally about 250-300ml per 1500/2000 miles, so bearing in mind its 12k between services you MUST check the level, and it probably needs topping up (y)

It is possible it will go off the dipstick before being low enough for the oil pressure to drop.

I had this problem with my 1.6 it got that low that if I took a corner pretty sharp the oil light would pop up so I took it garage and they cheeked the dip stick and said there was no oil in the engine what so ever (must of been abit or the engine would of blown up surly?) so I got them to top it up there and then, but now I always carry 2L off oil just incase, aswell as break fluid, power steering fluid and a 2L bottle of water it's always a good idea to carry it around with you I say just incase your running low on anything

If you do you're weekley checks unless you've a major fault occur you shouldn't ever need any of those (y)

I carry them just incase as I've always had bad luck with cars :( but this Stilo makes me think different but better safe then sorry

Have you ever needed to top up the power steering fluid? ;)
.

Nope never but my old PUG 106 needed it at least 1s a week as well as the others so ever since always carried them around with me ;)

Let us know how much power steering fluid you need to top up the steering with am sure many be interested on that..just be careful you do not spill any on the electrics (hint!!);)

Come to think of it.... I can't remember anyone on here posting about topping up the power steering fluid. Perhaps Stilos don't use much (or any). ;)

Look above the batter (please don't tell me that's the break fluid as to be honest I've never really looked under the hood that much :( ) ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1421438613.350723.jpg
