Ive just got my fiat stilo (second hand) and there was a few problems that ive had if anyone can help?

1) My cigarette lighter doesn't work- I've got one of those usb chargers for my iPhone and the holder hasn't acknowledged that its in there. I've tried to wiggle it and its still not responding?

2) My battery died- I accidentally switched my wipers on and one fell off so automatically i switched my car off. I tried to restart it afterwards and it wouldn't turn back on. Not sure if it was because of the cold conditions or if i did something wrong.

3) I cant extract the cd hub in it- from my saxo i have a new fancy cd player that switches off with the car, but i cant extract the silver cd case already installed in the car. Ive tried with the little grabbers from halfords- these broke. Any smart ideas about how i can get these out?

Will try give some help towards your issues with car

1 . does your item going to the cigar socket have a good solid fit, if not and you have another plug charger to try see if that works better or miss all that lot and have a look for the fuse located to the lower right of the steering wheel ,pull the cover for the fuse down and you will see the relays and fuses,, look for fuse F44 which should be a 20 Amp fuse you may need a torch and small pliars to check or change the fuse.

2. when you say wiper fell off did the whole arm fall off if so you would have to get the wiper spline coming from motor,scuttle cover to go back to base setting before refitting the arm, and does it still have the bolt to tighten the arm down. you would have to remove the wiper that came off then put wipers on and switch off with stalk control in cabin and then the spline should be in correct position to refit blade arm.can be fiddly to get them back in good position and tighten the bolt up if it has not sheared and damaged the spline ..a few things to look at and see how things go with getting it fixed just do not attach wiper arm back on until motor has finish its cycle back to rest.then fit in near as flush position of bottom of windscreen works well for me this way unless others have better methods.

if not above carry on with read of this when you put wiper on at cabin stalk switch put them on with switch stalk down 2 clicks do you hear the motor for the wipers running , listen outside at bottom of windscreen for wiper motor sound you can do this with out engine running for short period of time so not to drain battery, just so you are able to hear things better,, if you do hear the wiper motor running and the wipers are not working it would mean the wiper linkage has come off or even the spline to the blade arm has worn due to being stuck, taking the plastic bolt cover off the wiper blade arm and remove arm to check will give better idea, though if you do above paragraph first you would already know if spline was rotating plus better if done when you are certain you have refitted the arm in correct position as pointed out in above paragraph... the inner linkage can cause problems and new linkage arms are available to fit should that be the case... but check for motor running at the wiper by listening for motor whurring noise first,, else it could be an electrical issue..link for wiper linkage isse below if it is that.

3. Do recall many moons ago I did remove mine though used a couple of bits of coat hanger wire pushing into all small holes at same time and a whole lot of giggling the thing about if it is the radio unit you are trying to remove to get at the cage for it,,,, otherwise sorry can not help further on this one perhaps others have better advice to help you on this point.
