Hello

Has anybody had an issue with this particular piece of trim creaking or squeaking? I've had to remove it because it so annoying. It does it when driving over speed bumps or any irregularity in the road, even driving on and off my drive. It made a similar noise months ago so i took it out for a bit and refitted it. However now its making this creaking/squeaking noise, its not constant, it tends to do it over the surfaces i mentioned. Why would it do this, it has a crack in it. Could the trim be mishapen and flexing? Anyway i was thinking about getting another from a scrapyard but wondered if it do the same. Therefore i think i'll get a new piece from Fiat.

No issues with our, its it secured properly with all of the mounting clips

Hello MEP, yes its all clipped and screwed in properly. Theres no movement in the trim. At the flat end of the trim (near the seat), it doesn't sit flush to the other plastic bit, it has quite a lip even though its clipped in.

Perhaps the chassis is breaking in two, and the plastic holds the car together.

I was just about to say the same thing. Seriously though, has the car had a prang?

Well thats interesting you should say that because i suspect it has. The driver side rear wheel seems to be sat further into the arch more than the passenger side. Also the passenger side rear door and part of the quarter panel has been resprayed in the past (poor job, shade lighter and evident in sunlight). I've had a 4 wheel alignment done and all 4 wheels are all in line. I think part of the bodywork could be out. I made a thread about it www.fiatforum.com/stilo/317907-rear-passenger-wheel-nearer-arch.html. I want to get the car jig tested but thats going to have to wait :(

Anyway this creaking has only started a few weeks ago. I've had the car about 4 years.
