Hi all, been a while, very busy with a new job so not much time for the Stilo!

I've got a 1.9 JTD with climate control. I've noticed that when left on fully auto that the inside quite often gets humid/misty. I.E I get steamy windows! The problem goes if I force the system to pull the air from outside the car rather than recirculating. I may have some misunderstanding but I thought part of the job of air con was to help reduce the humidity in the air? Is this a sign of my air con needing a look at or is it a common thing? I replaced the air con radiator in summer as it had a hole in it and it's worked like a charm since then. The problem has reared its little head since the colder weather has arrived.

Thanks in advance

Alex

It was re gassed in summer and worked fine throughout. I assume the compressor is kicking in but hard to check. I'm going to have a bigger look into it over Christmas but just wanted to check I was thinking along the right lines.

Whats the best way to make sure the compressor is actually kicking in / the climate control module is telling it to turn on?

Thanks in advance

Just turn it on and it should kick in an out regularly providing its not below about 3C outside.

Get the car warm then set to minimum temp to see if the ac kicks in to cool it.
In dehumidify mode the unit is heating to evaporate the moisture and cooling to condense the moisture out. Recirculation mode is best. Drawing fresh air in will only work if low humidity outside.

if is any help my air con does not operate until 5 and half centergrade outside temperature, noticed the other day as started at 3 outside temp did not function until temp hit the 5.5 on climate control panel so with current temperatures outiside may be difficult to test unless you have warm garage to get correct working temp to then hear if the compressor clicks on, then if still not luck look at checking relay and fuse first, also if low gas pressure in system this will also stop it working
